Anti-social Behaviour (ASB), Drinking and Drugs around Grove Park

There has been complaints of anti-social behaviour and drugs within Grove Park and surrounding areas. Including street drinking and drug dealing in the neighbouring lanes. Tents have been installed in the shelter at the top of the park.

  • Monday 28th June, 2021

    We have recently received reports of anti-social behaviour and criminal damage in Grove Park. The neighbourhood team and North Somerset Community Response officers have been increasing their patrols and visiting the park during peak times to keep an eye on things.

    High Visibility Patrols are continuing along with council officers and street wardens.

    We have also been speaking to residents on the hillside around Grove Park as part of our intensive engagement project and talking about ways we can reduce future anti-social behaviour in the park.

    Reassurance patrols are regularly carried out all hours of the day, by the Town Centre Neighbourhood Team, North Somerset Council Community Response Officers and Street Wardens.

    Between us we all make sure the Park and surrounding area is monitored for street drinkers and people causing Anti-Social Behaviour.

    All has been well within Grove Park and there are no current issues. The café is now open and the public are enjoying the delights of the park.

    Reassurance patrols are regularly carried out all hours of the day, by the Town Centre Neighbourhood Team, North Somerset Council Community Response Officers and Street Wardens.

    Between us we all make sure the Park and surrounding area is monitored for street drinkers and people causing Anti-Social Behaviour.

    All has been well within Grove Park and there are no current issues.

    Reassurance patrols were carried out yesterday afternoon by PCSO 9184 CREVEN and PCSO 7056 HEMBERY.

    There were no individuals drinking in the park and all was quiet.

  • Friday 22nd January, 2021

    As part of the issues, tents had been installed in the shelter at the top of Grove Park. Notices were erected 14 days ago advising that anything left in the shelter would be removed as litter.

    Today North Somerset Council Community Response Officers and Town Centre PCSOs oversaw the removal of the tents and litter from the shelter at the top of Grove Park.

    Fences have now been erected around the shelter until further notice and regular patrols by Community Response Officers and PCSOs will be ongoing and we will continue to monitor the situation in the park.

    Reassurance patrols done daily AM and PM depending on shift pattern.

    Community Protection Warnings, Community Protection Notices, Acceptable Behaviour Contracts issued to a number of individuals.
