Coronavirus (COVID-19): the policing response and what you need to know

Street Drinking – Market Street

Following a meeting between Sedgemoor District Council, Local Councillors and the Police it has been agreed that  Neighbourhood Policing team will continue to conduct regular patrols within the areas of the Market Street and Southwell House.

The increased patrols are due to ASB by a group of street drinkers that are congregating in the area. Some of these individuals are from the local area, whilst others are travelling to meet up.

We continue to patrol the area regularly and work closely with partner agencies to find a satisfactory conclusion to the problems this will include moving individual on from the area as well as issuing Anti Social Behaviour Letters where appropriate.

This situation is being closely monitored.
