Coronavirus (COVID-19): the policing response and what you need to know

  • Thursday 10th June, 2021

    There has been the theft of a trailer and sheep feeder from the Somerton & Stoke Sub Hamdon area, these items have since been located and recovered.

    If you see anyone acting suspiciously please continue to report via 101 or 999 so that we are aware of incidents that are taking place.

  • Wednesday 3rd March, 2021

    A 16” bar STIHL chainsaw was taken from a burglary at a Commercial Premises in Martock if anyone has any information regarding this or becomes aware of a similar item being offered for sale, please contact police on 101 and quote ref 5221044733

  • Wednesday 27th January, 2021

    There has been a stables and yard that has been broken into in this area, with rugs, horse feed and a battery energiser taken, if you see these items offered for sale or have any information regarding this, please call 101 quoting 5221017357.

  • Saturday 16th January, 2021

    There has been a recent increase in the theft of 12v batteries from farms in the area, if you see anything suspicious or anyone that you do not recognise visiting your farm please bear this in mind.

    The NPT are working together with the Rural Affairs Team in order to deal with reported rural crime, please ensure that you contact us and report any issues that you are experiencing.

    We have received reports of hare coursing which is illegal and causes damage to farm land therefore we will deal positively with anyone that is identified as taking part in this activity.
