Shoplifting and purse snatches on the run up to Christmas

Recently we have been made aware of an increase in shop thefts in the centre of Wells and we will be concentrating on this on the run up to Christmas.

Wells NPT officers will be trying to combat this with the following

High Visibility Patrols

Visit to all shops and staff giving crime prevention advice

Liaise with Mendip CCTV to monitor their cameras

Plain Clothes officers will be patrolling during busy periods

Beat Surgeries in the High Street

Community Contact Vehicle on market days giving crime prevention advice and handing out Minder Bells (anti bag/purse theft bells)
