Coronavirus (COVID-19): the policing response and what you need to know

ANTI SOCIAL DRIVING

We are receiving reports from the public in both rural and residential areas about anti social driving. The area’s include Sutton Bingham, Odcombe village, Stourton Way, some of our industrial estates and arterial routes. There is an increasing habit of driving in a manner that is alarming to other road users, disturbing to local people living and working nearby. If you hear or witness this kind of driving please report via 101 so we can send available units to deal with any offences and also give us the opportunity to engage with and educate the drivers.

Discussions are in place to bring officers with Traffic expertise, exhaust sound monitors, ultralyte speed detectors etc to tackle the growing concern of the antisocial manner of driving, both in regard to the noise from exhausts etc.  To tackle the on going issue that these drivers are causing local residents not to be able to feel harassed by the noise and not wanting to go out and use the roads themselves.
