Anti-social behaviour and Street Drinking in Yeovil Town Centre

We are aware of an increase in anti – social behaviour (ASB) in Yeovil Town Centre. We are carrying out regular patrols and recording crimes and instances of ASB. We work with partners in the community such as the Council and Housing Associations and utilise our ASB tools and powers to reduce this.

  • Sunday 5th September, 2021

    Neighbourhood and Response Police Officers have attended Newton Road, Yeovil this afternoon and arrested 4 individuals involved in an assault. PCSOs are still in the area conducting follow-up enquiries and reassurance to residents.


    A section 34 Dispersal Notice is now in place. This gives Police increased powers to deal with ASB and crime and disorder.

  • Saturday 4th September, 2021

    An adult female will appear in court charged with multiple breaches of a Community Protection Notice for offences in the Town Centre.

    This comes after multiple incidents of disorder and anti-social behaviour.

    These notices are one of the many tools being employed by the neighbourhood team to take action against persistent disorder and anti-social behaviour in Yeovil.

  • Friday 3rd September, 2021

    The Yeovil Neighbourhood and Response Police Teams have been in Middle Street this evening dealing with a number of adults behaving in an anti-social and disorderly manner.

    As a result, two females have been arrested and taken to custody and a Section 34 Dispersal Notice is in place for the Town Centre until tomorrow morning.

    This gives Police increased powers to deal with ASB, crime and disorder. Individuals can be directed to leave the area for a specified time. Failure to comply may lead to their arrest.

  • Friday 3rd September, 2021

    More positive action taken by Response and Neighbourhood Officers:

    A further arrest of a male has been made in the last hour following an assault on Sherborne Road, Yeovil. This type of behaviour will not be tolerated.


  • Thursday 2nd September, 2021

    Foot patrols in the town centre are being carried out regularly, with engagement and positive action being taken against any individuals identified as being involved.

    Also we have had the Police Horse Mounted Section, who have been in the town centre, engaging with the community, while also being in the Nine Springs Country Park doing mounted patrols.

    These patrols have had a positive interaction with people and families who are in the Park.

    Also there are night time patrols being done in the area of the Town Centre with other Police resource’s.
