Please accept this request under the Freedom of Information Act. I’m seeking:
- Any and all Data Protection Impact Assessments that relate to the Community Safety app.
Please find attached the following DPIA:

Within this document, names other than those of officers at the rank of Superintendent or above have been redacted, under the following exemption:
- Section 40(2) – Personal Information.
Section 40 is a class based absolute exemption and there is no requirement to consider the public interest in this case.
Any information to which a request relates is exempt if it constitutes personal data and would contravene any of the data protection principles. Personal data relates to a living individual who can be identified directly from the information, or identifiable indirectly in combination with other available information.
To disclose the redacted information would lead to individuals being identified, which would breach principle 1 (lawfulness, fairness and transparency) of the Data Protection Act 2018. In line with national advice, we consider Superintendent to be the lowest rank at which disclosure is appropriate in these circumstances, given the level of responsibility entailed.
This serves as a partial refusal notice under section 17(1) of the FOI Act.

We hold the following DPIA as a live document, covering the offender risk modelling elements of the app:

Please find this attached. As stated, this is a live document that is still being amended and updated. The current version contains comments to this effect, which have been removed for the purpose of this disclosure as they are not part of the DPIA itself. As with question 1, names have been redacted under Section 40(2) relating to personal information.
In addition, the relevant team is now arranging for a further DPIA to be completed specifically relating to the Early Intervention App. Processes are also being put in place to prevent this type of oversight in the future. While no completed DPIA is held for the app itself, access to the app has been locked down to a minimal number of users.
