Inclusion and/ or diversity officers

Date of request: 23 April 2025
Reference: 549/25

Request

I wish to know how many inclusion and/ or diversity officers are currently employed by Avon and Somerset Police.

I would also like to know the total amount paid in annual salaries to the inclusion and/ or diversity officers in the last financial year?

Response

Our systems allow us to search for the numbers employed in roles on a certain date. All information in the table below is for the numbers in position and salary point on 31st March 2025.

We have searched for the keywords “Equalities”, “Diversity”, “Inclusion” and “Representative” (and variations thereof) in both organisation unit names and position names.

The members of police staff employed with a job title of ‘Diverse Workforce Outreach Worker’, promote and recruit those who are from protected characteristics to join the force. This work is not directly related to EDI, but they do sit under the Diversity and Inclusion Lead.

The Representative Workforce Officer is a warranted police officer whose responsibilities include diversity and inclusion work.
