Man charged with damaging hoarding near the Cenotaph in Bristol

A 29-year-old man has been charged after protective hoarding near the Cenotaph in Bristol city centre was spray-painted with graffiti in the early hours of Sunday.

Kenny Selway, of Kings Square Avenue, was charged with one count of criminal damage and one count of possessing a controlled drug (cannabis), following an incident just after midnight on Sunday 11 November.

The criminal damage charge relates to hoarding being damaged in Colston Avenue, near the Cenotaph, where signs had been placed asking for it to be kept clear of graffiti as a mark of respect for Remembrance Sunday.

Selway is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on 18 December.
