Appeal over attempted robbery of teenager – Taunton

Can you help text on a photo of an officer holding a radio

We’re asking for help after the attempted robbery of a teenager in Monkton Heathfield, Taunton.

It happened at about 8pm on Wednesday 5 June, as the 16-year-old boy walked along School Road.

Two men approached him from a footpath as he neared the end of the road. One punched him, knocking him to the ground and trying to take his bag. The boy managed to regain his feet and run away down a footpath. Nothing was stolen.

Both men were white and aged 19 or 20. One was about 5ft 9ins tall. He had stubble on his face and wore a black hoody and skinny black trousers. The other was slightly shorter. He also wore skinny black trousers but had a light-coloured hoody.

Dog walkers and people visiting the nearby Co-op make the road busy. We’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at around 8pm on Wednesday. If you saw anything or have any other information which could help, get in touch, quoting reference 5219125576.

If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5219125576
