We’re issuing CCTV footage as part of our investigation into the sexual assault of a woman in Lawrence Weston.

The incident happened at about 5.30pm on Friday 20 September.

The woman had parked her car in Moor Grove when she saw a man near the lane leading into Tump Woods. He approached her and sexually assaulted her before running away towards the woods.

Her attacker was white, 5ft 5 to 5ft 6ins tall and of slim to medium build. She believed him to be in his early 20s but said he had a ‘baby face’ so could be younger. He wore dark-coloured clothing and carried a black rucksack.

Officers are keen to trace several people seen in the area at around the time:

  • Two women walked up Moor Grove. One was wheeling a pushchair
  • A man and a woman headed up the lane with a Staffordshire Bull Terrier-type dog. The woman was using a walking stick

All these people may have valuable information which could help the investigation. We urge them to get in touch.

This is an isolated incident and we’d like to reassure members of the public that all lines of enquiry are being followed up.

If you can help, get in touch, quoting reference 5219218079.
