Driver of concrete mixer who died on A38 is named

The driver who died after the lorry he was driving, was in collision with a wall on the A38 in South Gloucestershire on 4 October, has been named.

Andrew Binding was driving a concrete mixer which collided with the wall of a farm at Wotton-under-Edge near Tytherington Quarry at about 3.45pm.

The family of Andrew have released the following statement and requested that they are left in peace to grieve at this difficult time.

“Andrew Richard Binding, aged 39 and known as Andy or Chunky to his friends – was the much loved only son of Wendy and Colin.

“He liked fishing and also enjoyed making models, especially using Technic Lego.

“Andy enjoyed socialising and had many friends. He loved his job but also enjoyed taking holidays.

“We will never forget you Andrew. Unfortunately you never made your 40th birthday next month (November).

“We will remember you always.”

Collision investigators are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have information to help their enquiries.
