Murder inquiry under way following death of man in Hartcliffe

The death of a man at a property in Hartcliffe is now a murder investigation.

We were called to reports of the death of a man in his 30s on Saturday at about 4pm at a property in Bishport Avenue.

The result of a post-mortem examination has now confirmed that death was due to a single stab wound to the chest.

A 45-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.

Police have obtained a court extension to question him until tomorrow evening. Enquiries into the incident are continuing.
