Witness appeal following fatal collision near Portishead

We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in North Somerset this morning. It happened on the A369 Portbury Hundred, near Portishead, shortly after 9.30am.

A motorcyclist was in collision with a car.

The motorcyclist – a man – sustained serious injuries and received treatment at the scene but sadly died shortly afterwards.

The male driver of the car was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries, including a wrist injury and bruising.

Four children who were also in the car were not injured.

The road is likely to remain closed until this evening and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid using the A369 between J19 of the M5 and the Wyndham Way roundabout.

We would particularly like to hear from anyone with dash cam footage of the incident.
