Appeal after burglary in Frome

We’re asking for witnesses and information after a burglary in Castle Street, Frome. It happened between 8.30pm and 9pm on Friday 29 November.

The thieves removed a first floor window and stole a cash from the home of a woman in her 70s.

We’re keen to hear from you if you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time.

It’s not clear how the thief got up to the window. Contact us if you have noticed a ladder or other means of access having been moved or taken.

You can keep your own home secure by:
  • fitting a burglar alarm and setting it at night as well as when you go out
  • installing sensor-activated security lighting
  • keeping valuables (including keys) securely out of sight
  • removing keys from door locks
  • storing high value items such as jewellery, passports and bank cards in a properly secured and hidden safe or with a specialist secure storage provider.
  • joining your local Neighbourhood Watch
  • reporting any suspicious incidents as they happen
