We are appealing for witnesses following a robbery on the Bristol cycle path.
It was reported to us at about 8.30am on Saturday morning (2 September) when a man was robbed on the cycle path near to Whitehall Road.
The victim was approached by another man. They spoke and then they appeared to embrace each other before there was an altercation between the two. Both then threw punches. A woman also intervened and attacked the victim picking up his rucksack and putting it on her back.
The two suspects then ran off in the direction of Whitehall Road, leaving the victim who required hospital treatment for a chest injury. He will remain in hospital for four or five days receiving treatment for the injury, which is not life threatening.
The suspects are described as a black man, aged 20-30 years old with long cane row hair, wearing a black knee length vest and a woman, of mixed background, also 20-30 years old, of slim build, wearing a green anorak coat.
We’re keen to hear from anyone who may have been walking or riding a bike along the cycling path at the time of the incident, who may have information to help our enquiries into the incident.
