Appeal to locate clothing in Bristol rape inquiry

Added on 12 March 2018 at 16:10

We’re releasing an image of an item of clothing we want to locate as part of an investigation into a rape in Bristol.

A 35-year-old man was raped by another man after leaving the OMG nightclub in Frogmore Street at about 5am on Sunday (March 11).

We’re unsure of the exact location of the incident but believe it happened somewhere between the city centre and the Clifton area and at sometime between 5am and 8am.

Investigating officer Acting DS Vanessa Byrne said: “We are keen to trace an item of the clothing which we know the victim had with him with he left the nightclub.

“Have you seen a shirt matching the one in the photo since Saturday night? It may have been discarded in a street or park area or be in someone’s possession? It’s unbranded and isn’t a new item of clothing.

“The victim is being fully supported and has attended The Bridge Sexual Assault Referral Centre where he’s been given access to all the expert help and support he needs.

“As well as trying to locate the clothing, we’re reviewing CCTV footage to trace the victim’s movements after he left the nightclub.”

If you’ve seen this shirt or can help with providing any more information, please call Investigations on 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5218052793.
