Do you want to know what the police do?

Avon and Somerset Constabulary is offering an exciting opportunity for the public to learn about what the police do and see first-hand, the day-to-day working of the local police force.

We are currently running a Citizen's Academy at Patchway in South Gloucestershire for two hours on a weekly basis, over ten weeks, starting on 21st February until 25th April 2018.

We are also running a shorter Citizen's Academy, which will run in Hartcliffe, for two hours, every Tuesday from 22nd May, for five weeks, finishing on 19th June.

The course will provide participants with an exceptional insight into policing in Avon and Somerset – from understanding different police roles to getting a glimpse into the challenges we face from different crimes. Attendees who complete the programme will ‘graduate’ from the Citizens’ Academy with a ceremony.

Spaces for the Patchway Citizens' Academy have now been filled.

If you want to register your interest for the Hartcliffe programme, email us at
