Drug Activity
Officers continue to conduct regular high-visibility patrols throughout Avonmouth and Shirehampton, with particular attention focused on areas identified through intelligence as hotspots for drug-related activity. These patrols enable officers to gather valuable information, disrupt criminal behaviour, and provide reassurance to residents who may be affected by issues within their local communities.
We would encourage members of the public to continue reporting any information or concerns they may have. Community intelligence remains a vital element in identifying emerging issues, developing a comprehensive understanding of local criminality, and enabling a targeted and effective response to drug-related offending and anti-social behaviour. Information that may seem insignificant can often prove instrumental in supporting ongoing investigations and enforcement activity.
We have recently received reports of drug-related paraphernalia, including small self-seal bags commonly associated with the supply of controlled substances, being discarded within the Avonmouth Park area. In response, residents may notice an increased police presence in and around the park at various times throughout the day and evening. These patrols form part of our continued commitment to deterring criminal activity, identifying those responsible, and ensuring the area remains safe and welcoming for all members of the community.
Our priority remains to keep Avonmouth and Shirehampton safe places in which to live, work, and visit. Through proactive policing, effective partnership working, and the ongoing support of local residents, we are better placed to identify concerns, target offenders, and take positive action where it is most needed.
Anyone with information relating to drug-related activity or any other concerns within their neighbourhood is encouraged to report it via 101, through our online reporting services, or by calling 999 in an emergency. By working together, we can continue to build safer, stronger, and more resilient communities for everyone.
