Drug-related activity and associated crime

Drug activity remains a concern in parts of Avonmouth and Shirehampton, with reports of street dealing and the suspected use of residential addresses for the storage, preparation and cultivation of controlled drugs. This type of activity can have a wider impact on the community, contributing to anti-social behaviour, violence and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals.

Your neighbourhood policing team is taking a proactive approach to tackle this issue. We will be increasing targeted patrols in identified hotspot areas, using stop and search powers where appropriate, and developing intelligence to disrupt those involved. We are also working with partner agencies to identify and close down addresses linked to drug activity, and to safeguard anyone who may be at risk of exploitation. We encourage members of the public to continue reporting any concerns, as community information plays a key role in helping us take action.
