Retail Crime
Being a predominantly retail environment, we suffer from a high-level of shop theft. Alongside the thefts businesses also suffer with ASB linked to this activity.
Police are using a range of resources, including high visibility, and plain clothes officers to identify, deter, and apprehend potential shoplifters.

This includes regular high‑visibility patrols in key retail areas, working closely with shop staff and security teams to share real‑time intelligence, and targeting known offenders through partnership operations. We’re also encouraging businesses to report all incidents so we can identify patterns and respond quickly.
