  Frampton, Sodbury & Yate Neighbourhood Teams conducted a joint Road Safety Operation with DVSA in the Yate & Henfield area today.  10 inspected vehicles had defects identified and drivers were committing offences ranging from:

  • Insecure loads causing danger of injury to the public,
  • Bold tyres through to cord,
  • Trailer break away cable defective,
  • Vehicles exceeding their maximum permitted weight limit – heaviest being 5840kg for a vehicle not to exceed 3500kg,
  • Flat tyres,
  • Insecure bumper & missing mirror,
  • Two vehicles exceeding weight limit for road – heaviest being 18 tonnes on a 7.5 tonne restricted road,
  • Driving without insurance and without a valid driving licence.

  Drivers have been dealt with by means of education through to being reported to attend court.
