Rural vehicle thefts

Frome Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team have noticed an increase in rural vehicle crime , which included plant machinery and vehicles. These offences have a significant impact on the farming community causing substantial financial loss.

Positive progress has been made following information received from a member of the public, this led to the successful recovery of two stolen vehicles in a rural location. This highlights the value of community intelligence and the importance of timely reporting.

• Frome NPT increased high-visibility and intelligence-led patrols in rural locations.
• Enhance engagement with local farmers, landowners and rural businesses to provide crime prevention advice and gather intelligence.

  Police Community Support Officers have continued to carry out visible patrols across our rural communities to deter potential criminal activity.   Over the last month, officers from the Frome Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team have successfully located and recovered a number of stolen vehicles and items of plant machinery across our area. These positive results have only been possible thanks to the support of our local communities and our increased high-visibility patrols.

  We have seen an increase in rural vehicle crime, including the theft of vehicles and plant machinery. These offences can have a significant impact on farming communities and rural businesses, often causing substantial financial losses and disruption to livelihoods.
