Rural vehicle thefts

Frome Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team have noticed an increase in rural vehicle crime , which included plant machinery and vehicles. These offences have a significant impact on the farming community causing substantial financial loss.

Positive progress has been made following information received from a member of the public, this led to the successful recovery of two stolen vehicles in a rural location. This highlights the value of community intelligence and the importance of timely reporting.

Ongoing actions :

• Frome NPT increased high-visibility and intelligence-led patrols in rural locations.
• Enhance engagement with local farmers, landowners and rural businesses to provide crime prevention advice and gather intelligence.
• Continue to develop intelligence through partnership working and public information to identify offenders.

We are asking members of the public to report suspicious activities, vehicle movements, and all incidents of rural crime promptly, as every piece of information can be crucial to investigations.
