Schools Engagement
Glastonbury has 1 senior school, 1 junior school, 1 infant school and a number of nurseries. The local Police team try to engage with all students, giving them advice and support alongside the teaching staff. Regular visits are made to all schools.

The Team have been assisting the St Dunstans School with conducting school welfare visits with students not attending school after the Coronavirus regulations relaxed.

PC Katie Moyse, PC Karen Upshall and PCSO Paul Lindsell have been on a visit with the Mini Police from St. Benedict’s school, to Bridgwater custody suite. This has developed their understanding of the Police and our role within the community.

With the support of Glastonbury town council a ‘Mini Police unit has been launched at St. Benedicts school.

Officers from the neighbourhood team attend St. Dunstan’s school on a weekly basis to be around for pupils to discuss any issues or concerns.

A call was made to the local senior school where a young male had been excluded. The young male had refused to be taken home by family or staff, local PCSO attended and took him home, ensuring he was safe and also the advice given regarding his actions.
