Tackling illicit tobacco & underage sales
The North Bristol Neighbourhood Policing Team recently seized approximately £2,200 worth of illegal goods in the Lawrence Weston area, including illicit tobacco products, drug-infused confectionery, and prescription-only medication.
Criminal activity of this nature is frequently associated with wider organised crime networks and can have a significant detrimental impact on our communities. Counterfeit, unregulated, and illegally supplied products present serious risks to public health and safety, while the proceeds generated from their sale can be used to fund organised criminality, exploitation, and other harmful activities.
We remain committed to tackling this type of offending and making our neighbourhoods safer for everyone. Positive action will continue to be taken in response to intelligence received from members of the public. Every piece of information helps us develop a clearer understanding of local criminal activity and supports our efforts to identify and disrupt those responsible.
We would like to thank all residents who continue to engage with us and share information. Your support is invaluable and plays a crucial role in helping us protect our communities, reduce crime, and improve the quality of life for those living and working in North Bristol.
