Anti-social Behaviour

Through a proactive and partnership-based approach, we have been more effectively managing anti-social behaviour within the community. This has included conducting regular high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot areas, providing reassurance to residents and acting as a deterrent to offending behaviour. We have also strengthened our engagement with young people by attending school events and working closely with local schools to build positive relationships, improve trust, and promote responsible behaviour. In addition, we have held Acceptable Behaviour Contract (ABC) meetings with identified offenders, working alongside them and their families to understand underlying issues and explore positive interventions and support mechanisms to help manage and improve their behaviour. As a result of these combined efforts, we have seen a significant reduction in anti-social behaviour incidents, demonstrating the effectiveness of early intervention, community engagement, and problem-solving approaches.

We are pleased to report a continued reduction in levels of anti-social behaviour within our communities. We are working closely with partner agencies to help ensure this trend continues and, when incidents do occur, we take a proactive approach to address issues early rather than simply reacting after the event. We are continuously out patrolling, whether this be by foot, by bike or by car, so if you see us please give us a wave! We are grateful for the ongoing support of our communities, whose willingness to report concerns has played a vital role in helping us identify problems and tackle them effectively. If you witness or experience anti-social behaviour, please do not hesitate to report it, no matter how big or small the issue may seem. Every report helps us build a clearer picture and enables us to take appropriate action to keep our communities safe and welcoming for everyone.

We are continuing to strengthen community reassurance through proactive work to tackle anti-social behaviour. Our officers and staff work hard to address behaviour that causes alarm, harassment, or distress to others, taking appropriate action and following up with interventions and support plans where needed.

We are pleased to report a significant reduction in incidents; however, we recognise that anti-social behaviour continues to affect some areas of our communities. We regularly patrol these locations on foot and in police vehicles to provide a visible presence, engage with residents, and address concerns.
