Halloween and Bonfire Night
Halloween and Bonfire Night are traditionally busy times for local policing due to an increase in anti-social behaviour, including criminal damage, nuisance calls, and unsafe use of fireworks. These events can cause distress to vulnerable members of the community and place additional demand on emergency services. By prioritising proactive engagement and patrols during this period, we aim to keep our communities safe and ensure everyone can enjoy the festivities responsibly.

In the lead-up to Halloween and Bonfire Night, the local policing team has been working closely with shops and supermarkets to remind them of the importance of responsible sales practices. Retailers are being encouraged to restrict the sale of items such as eggs, flour, and fireworks to young people during this period.
While it is not illegal to sell eggs and flour to those under 18, we advise caution due to the strong link between these items and incidents of anti-social behaviour at this time of year.
If you experience any issues around this time then, as always, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
