Anti-Social Behaviour – Gloucester road south
Police are aware of the recent increase in anti-social behaviour in the Elton Road/Gloucester Road area, including begging, and drug use.
Police are patrolling the area frequently, and dealing with any ASB they come across. We are also working with the local businesses to tackle the problems.

Anti-Social Behaviour on Gloucester Road South
Addressing anti-social behaviour on Gloucester Road South, particularly in the area around Sainsbury’s, is currently a local policing priority. We are aware of concerns raised by residents, businesses, and visitors regarding behaviour that is negatively affecting the community and making people feel unsafe.
The issues being reported include:
- Aggressive begging
- Littering and environmental nuisance
- Drug use in public places
- Drug dealing and associated criminal activity
- Human waste being left in public areas
- Other forms of anti-social behaviour causing distress to local residents and businesses
Officers are carrying out targeted patrols in the area, working closely with partner agencies and local businesses to identify those responsible and address the root causes of these issues. We are also gathering intelligence to better understand patterns of offending and to support appropriate enforcement action where necessary.
How You Can Help
The local community plays an important role in helping us tackle anti-social behaviour. Please report incidents when they occur and provide as much detail as possible, including descriptions, locations, times, and any vehicle information.
We particularly encourage reports relating to:
- Drug dealing or suspected drug activity
- Aggressive or intimidating behaviour
- Persistent anti-social behaviour
- Environmental concerns affecting public spaces
- Individuals causing alarm, harassment, or distress
Reporting
- Call 999 if there is an immediate threat to life, violence, or a crime in progress.
- Call 101 for non-emergency incidents.
- Report anti-social behaviour online through Avon and Somerset Police.
Every report helps build a clearer picture of what is happening in the area and enables partners to take effective action to improve the environment for everyone who lives, works, and visits Gloucester Road South.
We recognise that some of the individuals involved in anti-social behaviour may be experiencing homelessness. Our aim is not to criminalise people because of their housing circumstances. However, we will take action where behaviour negatively impacts the local community, causes nuisance or disorder, or makes residents, visitors and workers feel unsafe while going about their daily lives.
