Parking around schools
We are are getting calls in relation to parking outside schools
The yellow “School Keep Clear” zig-zag markings outside the school are there to protect children by ensuring drivers and pedestrians have a clear view of the road. Vehicles must not stop, wait, or park on these markings during the times shown on the accompanying signs, even for a quick drop-off or collection
We kindly ask parents and carers to:
- Avoid parking on or near school zig-zag markings.
- Consider parking a short distance away and walking the remainder of the journey.
- Be mindful of local residents by not blocking driveways or access points.
- Allow extra time for drop-off and collection during busy periods.
We would also like to advise that additional patrols will be taking place around local schools during drop-off and pick-up times. These patrols aim to promote road safety, educate drivers, and address any parking issues that may place children at risk.
