Community Alert – Electric Sur-Ron Bikes in Shepton Mallet
The Neighbourhood Policing Team has been made aware of electric Sur-Ron bikes being used around Shepton Mallet, including in Collett Park.
Please remember:
– Sur-Ron bikes are classed as off-road electric motorcycles and cannot be ridden on public roads, pavements, or in parks unless they are fully road-legal, registered, insured, and the rider holds the correct licence.
– Using these bikes illegally can lead to seizure of the vehicle, fines, and prosecution.
Collett Park is a space for families, children, and walkers. Riding electric bikes in the park poses a serious risk to pedestrians and can cause injury. Please respect the safety of others.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to carry out regular foot patrols around Shepton Mallet, including Collett Park, to monitor and address this issue.
