Vehicle Crime and Theft Prevention

Wincanton Neighbourhood team have seen an increase in vehicles being stolen and used to travel to different places to commit thefts and burglaries. We are working closely with Dorset rural crime team to combat this problem and support further investigations.

We will be conducting regular high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot locations and areas where vehicle thefts have been reported.

  Wincanton Neighbourhood Policing Team have continued with proactive patrols within hotspot areas. Last week we seized a vehicle which was involved in a dwelling burglary. Currently we are seeing an increase in copper thefts, we encourage people to be aware of this and any suspicious activity gets reported to police.
