Selling of vapes to underage Children

We’ve received a number of reports and intelligence relating to the sale of vapes to underage children within the local area. The sale of vaping products (including e-cigarettes and e-liquids) to anyone under the age of 18 is illegal, and businesses found to be doing so may face enforcement action.

We are working closely with Trading Standards to identify retailers who may be breaching the law, and appropriate action will be taken where offences are identified.

We would like to remind parents and carers to be aware of the potential risks associated with vaping, particularly for young people, and to speak with their children about the dangers and legal implications.

If you have any information about shops selling vapes to underage children, or any concerns about this issue, please report it to us via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In an emergency, always call 999.

Your information helps us keep our community safe.
