Groups of youths gathering at the Ridgewood Community Centre in the car park area during the evenings, littering, making excessive noise and thought to be taking and dealing drugs.

Further Intel submitted around local drug activity and we continue to work with local managers to reduce crime in this area.

Meetings and patrol continue and extra hot spot funding has been requested to target this area for offenders as we move into the Spring/Summer.

A meeting was held with outside agencies last month to agree actions moving forward in preparation for the summer months. Neighbourhood police have also met this week with the Ridgewood manager and staff at Southwold House to offer crime prevention advice.

After recent intelligence, at 5am on December 28th 2023 two males were stopped in a vehicle after a nearby Burglary in the car park on Ridgewood Community Centre and both males arrested for drug and driving offences. Both have been released under investigation pending further enquires.

We have worked very close with site mangers and conducted a crime prevention survey for staff. We hold regular meetings and have assisted in obtaining funding to erect a small fence at one of the “cut through” points to prevent youths gathering. We also continue to patrol this area particularly on late shifts.
