Apply for a Vehicle Special Order for a carnival

If you are organising a carnival, there are certain steps you must follow:

1. Step 1 : Step 1: Check if you need a Vehicle Special Order

   Check whether you require a Vehicle Special Order (VSO) by reading the:

   • VSO flow chart (PDF)
   • Carnival information pack (PDF)

    

2. Step 2 : Step 2: Complete your Vehicle Special Order

   If you require a VSO, download the VSO Checklist (PDF) before applying, to help ensure the vehicle is compliant. If you will be using a smaller vehicle, read the Carnival Safety Inspections (PDF)

   Download and complete the Vehicle Special Order (Word doc) and email it to michael.hepworth@vca.gov.uk or send to:

3. Step 3 : Step 3: Check your towing vehicles are compliant

   Ensure your towing vehicles and carts are fully compliant with Construction and Use Regulations.

4. Step 4 : Step 4: Prepare your vehicle for a carnival

   Prepare your vehicle for entry to a carnival by reading the:

   • Carnival handbook (PDF)
   • Vision presentation (PDF)
