Teenager arrested following serious assault in Shepton Mallet

We’ve arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of  causing grievous bodily harm with intent after another man suffered serious injuries in Shepton Mallet.

The incident happened in Cowl Street at just before 6am on Thursday (August 29).

The injured man, who is 23, was taken to hospital for treatment after suffering injuries believed to have been caused by a bottle.
