Man charged after racially-aggravated incident in Bristol

A 59-year-old man has been charged following a racially-aggravated incident in Bristol on Saturday (7 March).

Benjamin Gray, of Eastville, will appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 9 March).

He has been charged with:

  1. Assault by beating
  2. Use threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour to cause harassment / alarm / distress
  3. Assault by beating and offence was racially-aggravated
  4. Religiously-aggravated intentional harassment / alarm / distress

The charges follow an incident in which members of the public were racially abused and a woman was assaulted in Cheltenham Road.
