Body found during search for missing man

A body has been recovered during searches for a missing man in Somerset

We were called at around 12.50pm to a location on the M5 northbound, between junctions 22 (Burnham-on-Sea) and 21 (Weston-super-Mare) near Loxton and Banwell, on Saturday 8 August following the discovery of a body.

Officers attended the scene and, while formal identification has not yet been completed, we believe the body to be that of 52-year-old Scott Morris, who has not been seen since Thursday 23 July.

His next of kin have been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this time.

The death is not being treated as suspicious, and we will prepare a file and carry out enquiries on behalf of the coroner.
