Investigations continue into south Bristol incident
An investigation into an incident in South Bristol continues at pace and residents should expect to see an increased police presence in the area over coming days.
A number of people have been arrested and charged after a firearm was discharged in Pavey Road, Hartcliffe, at around 1pm on Wednesday (5 August).
Residents can be assured there will be a heightened police presence in the area over the weekend, as officers carry out reassurance patrols and continue to make extensive enquiries into the incident.
Thankfully, nobody was injured in the incident which we understand has caused concern in the wider community.
Neighbourhood Superintendent Deepak Kenth said: “This incident will have caused concern to residents, but we can assure them this is an isolated incident in which, thankfully, nobody was injured, but we are nonetheless taking it incredibly seriously.
“We immediately deployed significant resources in response to the incident, took swift action to arrest and charge a number of people suspected to be involved, and there will be a heightened police presence in the area while investigations continue.
“Reassurance patrols will also be carried out in the area, and people with concerns are encouraged to raise them with officers on the ground while we keep our partners and our community updated with our enquiries.”
