Man jailed after admitting 12 burglary offences

A burglar has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to 12 offences in Bristol in a six-week period.

Paul Bryant, 46, of Dutton Road, Stockwood, South Bristol, was sentenced to three years in prison at Bristol Crown Court yesterday (Monday 10 August) after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing at the same court in June.

Bryant carried out non-dwelling burglaries at pubs and shops, causing a significant amount of damage while stealing cash.

PC Hannah Baynham, officer in the case, said: “Bryant targeted independent businesses, causing significant amounts of damage while stealing various amounts of cash from his victims.

“Bryant’s offending has had a detrimental impact on the businesses he targeted due to a loss of earnings and having to pay for repairs to the damage caused.

“This case has relied on CCTV footage and reports from people in the communities affected by Bryant’s offending, and these charges would not have been possible without them.”
