Teenager arrested after man injured on railway path
An investigation is continuing following an incident on the Bristol to Bath Railway Path yesterday evening (Tuesday 11 August).
We were called to a section of the path, near Bitton, shortly after 8pm.
One man was found to have been wounded and was taken to hospital by paramedics. He remains in hospital and in a stable condition. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
We believe the injuries sustained were caused by a bladed weapon.
One male, who is in his teens, was arrested in connection with our enquiries yesterday and he remains in custody.
The footpath remains closed in that area as a result of our investigation. We will seek to reopen the path at the earliest opportunity and are grateful for people’s patience understanding while that work is ongoing.
