Witness appeal after fatal A38 collision

We are appealing for witnesses and those with information to come forward.

Officers investigating a fatal collision on the A38 in Brent Knoll this morning (29 August) are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

We were called by the ambulance service at 5.20am to the collision involving a pedestrian and a white Vauxhall Astra.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian, a man in his 40s, died at the scene. His family have been updated and our thoughts are with them.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and has assisted officers with their enquiries.

The A38 has been closed between the Fox and Goose pub and the B3140 roundabout while the scene investigation is completed.
