Witness appeal following robbery on railway path
We are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in South Gloucestershire.
The victim, who is a boy in his late-teens, had a grey Carrera Crossfire 2 bicycle stolen from him by a group of unknown individuals during the incident that happened on Wednesday 12 August. He sustained minor physical injuries.
The robbery took place on the Bristol to Bath Railway Path, close to the old Mangotsfield Station. The incident is not believed to be linked to a serious assault that happened on the same footpath near Bitton earlier in the week.
Additional uniformed patrols have been taking place at various locations along the path in recent days to provide reassurance and extra visibility.
We have received descriptions of eight people we believe may have been involved, and all are described as being in their teens or early-20s.
They are described as follows:
- Person 1 – white male, 5ft 8ins, of a large build with brown eyes. He was wearing a black bucket hat, black face covering which was pulled up from the neck over his nose, black Adidas coat, black joggers.
- Person 2 – was wearing black clothing
- Person 3 – Asian male and of a large build. He was wearing a black bucket hat, dark face covering pulled up over his nose, a thin waterproof jacket with hood and black joggers.
- Person 4 – Black male, about 6ft 2ins tall, slim build, with messy afro hair. He had a face covering and was wearing a black tracksuit and black joggers with a white stripe. He was a passenger on an e-scooter, ridden by Person 3, that was black in colour, with red accents on the front and back wheel areas, and a screen in the middle.
- Person 5 – white male wearing a bucket hat and face covering, black jacket and white and black joggers.
- Person 6 – white male wearing a bucket hat and face covering and a black Nike tracksuit.
- Person 7 – male of mixed heritage, 6ft 4ins and of a large build. He was wearing a grey tracksuit top and black Nike tracksuit bottoms. He had a bucket hat and a face covering. He was riding a dark grey electric bike.
- Person 8 – white male, 6ft, average build and dressed in black and wearing a black bucket hat. He was riding a grey road bike with no lights or reflectors.
