Yeovil man jailed for more than seven years for cocaine and cannabis supply offences

A 60-year-old man has been jailed for more than seven years after two drugs warrants were carried out in Yeovil last year.

Andrew White, of Sherborne Road, in Yeovil, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A and class B drugs (cocaine and cannabis).

He was sentenced to seven years and four months in prison during a hearing at Taunton Crown Court, sitting at North Somerset Courthouse, on Wednesday (26 August).

The court was told how, on 31 July last year, officers executed search warrants at two addresses in Yeovil.

The first warrant was at the home of White, where officers seized an amount of cannabis and thousands of pounds in cash.

The second warrant was carried out at the home of 58-year-old Sally Robinson, of St Georges Avenue, Yeovil, where officers found three blue drums hidden in a wardrobe under a duvet cover filled with cannabis flowering heads, several blocks of cocaine and a safe containing bags of cocaine.

Robinson pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class B drugs (cannabis) and was given a community order during a hearing at the same court on Friday 14 August.

Keys located in White’s house fit the front door of Robinson’s home as well as the safe.

The seized drugs held a street value of almost £600,000.

Detective Inspector Tim Seaman, of the Serious and Organised Crime, said: “These search warrants are the result of a proactive investigation; we utilise a variety of investigative methods, and act upon information provided to the Police by members of the public, to catch criminals unawares and seize illegal items.

“Drug use and distribution have a significant impact on our communities and the livelihoods of those who live in them.

“Anti-social behaviour, violence and theft are just a handful of incidents which can be linked to drug misuse and drug dealing.

“We are committed to tackling and disrupting criminals like White and Robinson who are intent on supplying drugs and benefiting financially from this.”
