The scales of justice and the words

Magistrates have remanded a man into custody pending trial on charges relating to so-called “car key” burglaries in Bristol, Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire.

Deniz Dikmen, 20, of Coalpit Heath, appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court today, Friday 4 September, charged with four counts of burglary and one of possessing criminal property, namely cash.

Two homes in Cam, one in Westbury-on-Trym and one in Yate were burgled between 15 June and 9 August 2026. In each case, vehicle keys of makes including BMW and Mercedes were stolen.

The charges are part of an ongoing operation to tackle car-key burglaries across the Avon and Somerset policing area.

Deniz Dikmen entered no plea and was remanded into custody pending a further hearing at Bristol Crown Court on 5 October.
