Appeal after burglaries in Long Ashton
We are releasing an image of a person we would like to speak to in connection with a number of burglaries in North Somerset.
We received multiple calls to three burglaries and five attempted burglaries at addresses in Long Ashton at around 1.30am on Thursday 8 October.
Two vehicles and three pairs of shoes were stolen during the incidents. We will maintain contact with the victims and will offer them access to specialist support services they may benefit from.
We have taken accounts from victims and have carried out house-to-house and CCTV enquiries, and we are now issuing a picture of a individual we would like to speak to because we believe he may have information which could assist with our enquiries.
The person, pictured, is described as white, male, in his late teens or early twenties, and is wearing a dark Nike Air Max hooded jumper and shorts.
PC Joseph Reed, officer in the case, said: “We know incidents like this cause concern in our communities, but residents can be assured we are taking this incredibly seriously and a thorough investigation will be carried out.
“Burglary is an invasive crime which can have a significant impact on victims, not just in terms of financial and sentimental loss, but it can also make people feel unsafe in their own homes, and we urge people to continue reporting such incidents.
“Please do look out for your neighbours by reporting any unusual activity around homes and vehicles. As the darker evenings draw in, we’d also recommend security lighting and locking up and setting the alarm, if you have one, at night as well as when you’re out.”
Anybody with information relating to the incident or the identity of the man, pictured, are asked to call us on 101 quoting reference number 5226335277 or complete our inline appeals form.
