A 56-year-old man has been charged in connection with a collision in Stoke Gifford last year in which Leyton Coombs, 14, sadly died.

Following a police investigation, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charged of causing death by dangerous driving for Paul Dacey.

He appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Friday 16 October and will appear at Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday 25 November.

The collision on Tuesday 18 March 2025 happened on Great Stoke Way and involved Leyton, who was riding a bicycle, and a car. Leyton tragically died of his injuries in hospital five days later.

His family continue to be updated by a specially trained family liaison officer.
