Witness appeal after collision near Wells

We are appealing for witnesses after a collision involving a motorbike and a van near Wells yesterday (Thursday 8 October).

The collision between a white Triumph motorbike and a white Ford Transit van was reported at 1.15pm on the A371 Bishops Park Way.

The motorcyclist, a man in his seventies, was taken to hospital with injuries that are thankfully neither believed to be life-threatening nor life changing.

No other injuries were reported.

The road was closed while emergency services responded and was reopened at 7pm.

Officers are working to establish the full circumstances that led to the collision and are urging anyone with any information or dashcam footage to contact us.

They are particularly keen to hear from the driver of a lorry which was reported to be nearby at the time of the collision.
