Witness appeal after motorcyclist’s death in Southmead

A road closure is in place in Southmead following a fatal collision.

Emergency services were called to Greystoke Avenue shortly before 1.40pm after a single-vehicle collision.

Sadly a motorcyclist died at the scene.

The man’s family are aware and our thoughts are with them. They will be supported by a specially-trained officer going forward.

Collision investigation work is taking place at the scene and due to the extensive nature of those enquiries the road is likely to need to remain shut for a number of hours. Therefore, we would advise road users to seek an alternative route where possible.

Witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage that may be relevant to our investigation, is asked to contact us.
