Can you help?

We are appealing for any witnesses and those with information relating to an assault in Weston-super-Mare to come forward and assist with our enquiries.

Two men, in their late teens, were knocked unconscious during an incident on The Grand Pier at around 1.30am on Sunday 9 August.

We have spoken to one of the victims who has provided an account of the incident, and he did not seek medical advice but we do not believe he suffered serious injury.

We are now appealing for the second victim who has not yet spoken to officers to come forward with information which could assist us.

A number of enquiries have been carried out, including a trawl of CCTV and intelligence checks, while investigations continue.

The suspect has been described as a white male, of muscular build, who was wearing black shorts and a black T-shirt.

PC Henry Mills, officer in the case, said: “We would particularly like to hear from the second victim in this case, who is yet to speak to us about this incident who may have information which could assist our investigation.

“We have maintained contact with the first victim and we would also appeal to any other witnesses and those with information to come forward.

“We understand incidents like this will cause concern in our community, but we believe this to be an isolated incident, and we do not believe there to be any ongoing risk to the public. We continue to work alongside our partners to prevent and tackle crime and disorder within the night-time economy.”
