A police officer was hurt, and a second was lucky to avoid injury, while at the scene of a collision in Lockleaze, Bristol, in the early hours of Wednesday 4 November.

We were called just before 3.25am after a Citroen C4 was in collision with a home on Morris Road. Fire and ambulance crews also attended.

Thankfully no one within the property was injured. The property has been made safe, and Bristol City Council is supporting the occupants.

A man in his twenties was arrested in nearby Shaldon Road on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs. He went to hospital for assessment before being taken into police custody and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

While emergency services were dealing with that incident, a Volkswagen Golf was driven towards the scene. A police officer on foot was injured while trying to stop the car. The Golf was in collision with police vehicles and a fire engine.

Thankfully the injured police officer did not need to go to hospital and remained on duty.

A man in his late teens and a second in his twenties were arrested and taken to hospital before being taken into police custody in connection with offences including dangerous driving and possession with intent to supply cocaine. Both have since been released on police bail while investigations continue.
